Historic first chiropractic seminar held in Peru

Chiropractic care is a very new thing in this developing country. To help bring chiropractic care to the people of Peru a small group of doctors there have organized a professional association. They invited Dr. Myron Brown to present the first educational seminar to chiropractors in the history of the country. The seminar, presented by Brown, focused on the philosophy of chiropractic and its history. Lima, Peru was the site of this first seminar open to all chiropractors in the country. Chiropractic is an up and coming profession in this South American country.

Accepting Patients

Dear Friends and Practice Members,

We are truly excited to be ready to accept patients for care in our new Rock Hill chiropractic office. We busily prepared the facility for several months and we are happy to report that we have secured the finest chiropractic equipment and are ready to work!

You may have noticed that we addressed this message to friends and practice members. The common term is, patient, but we really prefer practice members. That’s because chiropractic improves everyone’s performance, not just for the sick and hurting. We also like the term, practice member, because it helps to teach children that getting their spine checked regularly by the chiropractor is a normal, natural part of their family experience. The word, patient is still OK, but it just has that sick and hurting feel to it that makes it harder for kids to grasp that chiropractic is an important ingredient in healthy living.

Brown's Host Japanese Delegation

On November 11th and 12th a delegation of 10 doctors from Japan, led by Dr. Mitsu Shiokawa visited Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic. Dr. Shiokawa is a 1972 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic and the founder and president of the Shiokawa School of Chiropractic in Tokyo, Japan.

Dr. Myron and Charlene Brown, long time friends to Dr. Shiokawa, arranged the visit whose highlight would be a precision upper cervical chiropractic presentation. The special seminar was presented by Dr. Perry Rush on the Sherman College campus to introduce Blair analysis to the group of special guests. They were also treated to a campus tour and a demonstration of the digital x-ray analysis software by Dr. Patricia Kuhta.
